Next came the praxinoscope which was created/developed from the Zoetrope by a Frenchman called Emile Reynaud in 1877. "He was the first to create short sequences of dramatic action by drawing on a thirty foot strip of transparent substance which was called 'Crystaloid'". This new development on the Zoetrope was the pathway for what would later come in the future amongst the animation timeline/industry.
The image above is the Praxinoscope in action. After Reynaud developed the Praxinoscope in 1877 he went on trying to change it for use in theatre.
