Edward Hopper - Windows, Work in Progress

One of the many artists I have notes on Is a man called Edward Hopper. Edward Hopper(1882 - 1967) Is an artist who is well known for a piece of art called  'Night Hawks'. Below I have added a few of Edward Hoppers' paintings which I found very inspiring when looking at one of his books of work. Whilst looking at these images you will notice a very distinct similarity in all of these works, his use of windows throughout his paintings which potray the scene.

Of course, firstlty I want to talk about the painting 'NightHawks'. Phil showed the class this particular image throughout the first lecture of the new project. Phil had alot to say about this image, especially that it is probably the most well known piece of work that Edward Hopper had pauinted throuout his career.

When He painted this image one of the main focuses was the way to enlose the restaurant. This particular one of Hopper's oil paintings shows the viewers a curved pain of glass. When he painted the glass in this way he was trying to create a visible and realistic piece of glass which created an atmosphere of knowing. What I mean by this is the was the people are closed off from the rest of the world. What might they be talking about, the way the attendant is slouching over suggests to me that he is trying to give the others something, but what.
