Short example of how a Skateboard is made -
Many types of Skateboards are made from different types of woods, this usually depends on the weight, durability and the manufacture of the board. One of the more common types of wood used to make the skateboard is from a Maple tree. The wood is cut into very thin strips, applied to each other and laminated into place in a similar process in which Plywood is made.
The Skateboard is glued and compressed together leaving it dry for a period of time. However, depending on the type of Skateboard, some are bent in their resting period to create the front or tail end of the board.
After the resting period, the Skateboards are cut out, drilled and sanded down ready for a full finsh or custom graphics.
