Give Up Yer Aul Sins

After researching and posting a bit for the transcription project, I came across the poem/text in the post below which is called "Footprints in the Sand". After seeing my post Alan left me a comment pointing me in the right direction of a little animation called, "Give Up Yer Aul Sins".

The short series of T.V animations called, "Give Up Yer Aul Sins" is a selection of recordings from young children re-telling old bible stories to their classroom teacher. The content of the recordings is used is then edited and made into a five minute animation in the style of a documentary.

Brown bag studios who are behind "Give Up Yer Aul Sins" were Oscar nominated for this short, which was aired at over fifty film festivals, such as Cannes film festival, Aspen film festival, Cork film festival and many more where they even won their nominations.

What makes this animation a successful is the child's interpretation. Often poem's such as 'Footprints in the sand' are a little too straight forward and well known to make good animations. Particularly in the case of religion. Often a left handed approach can give you the way in you need.

This is a perfect candidate for the 1-a-day post on the group blog, Adam - nudge, nudge... Are you an author on the group blog? Let me know - if not email me and I'll use your email address to generate an invite.
