Just a few videos I found of 2D animations which really interested me. The first one is from the carphone warehouse advert. I saw this one quite a while back but I thought it would be fitting for this project, especially because it has a good use of morphing examples.
The next few I just found whilst on my research travels. These are also very interesting, the thing I think I personally like most about these next few are how creative and effective they are. Have a look for yourself.
Actually, the third one of these videos is another short from the carphone warehouse advert highlighting all the factors about how technoligy has changed over the years.
Adding a little bit of difference to the post, the fourth and final video is a stop motion of someone completing a rubix cube. I'm not too sure why but I really like it, for starters I have never finished one, not even close. Secondly I just find it differrent, and unusual.

Hi Adam...
So, Act 1 - dining table environment is established, with unlit candles; matchbox arrives... However, you'll also need to establish that the matchbox is myopic - which means you'll have to show things from the matchbox's point-of-view; you'll need to show what the matchbox sees - or rather 'how' he sees things.
Act 2 - matchbox proceeds to ignite all the wrong things.
Act 3 ?
You know, I wonder if you simply need to switch things around - so that Act 3 is the revelation that the matchbox has been lighting all the wrong things - so the final shot is the matchbox walking out of shot, while behind him, the table burns - in other words, you structure your story so this is the twist.
Structurally, you could show the matchbox lighting the candles in Act 2 - you're showing the matchbox's perspective - then, in Act 3 you 'flash back' but this time you're showing the reality of the activity - the matchbox lighting the end of sausages sticking out of a pile of mash, the lightbox lighting the cork in a bottle of wine and so on... Yes - think about the reveal as your Act 3...
thanks Phil, look foward to showing it at the Crit, have a good easter, probably see you in the next week... :)
