Today was a very good day for work. I came in early and finaly began putting together a sketchbook of my research and initial ideas. As well as completing a few ideas I also took part in my first life drawing class. At first I didn't know what to expect because this sort of thing was new to me. Once we was in the room and began the class and started to sketch out the model I really started to enjoy it. The class went on for about 3 hours but it was a very worthwhile excersise which i look foward to doing again next week.

Albrecht Durer
What can I say about this man. I really began to appreciate Albrecht Durer when I started to research into his work. Albrecht painted beautiful self portraits which always seemed to flourish. He was very proud and massively obsessed with his appearance which showed in his portraiture. Albrecht's first self portrait was done when he was thirteen years of age and as you can see he was a very talented young man.
Daniel Lee
Daniel Lee AKA Lee Xiaojing
Whilst in class i was highly drawn to the brilliance of this mans work. I truley love the way he combines his human potraits with animals.
Daniel Lee is an artist who uses photoshop techniques to combine human features with animal features. As soon as I saw a display of Daniel Lees' work I instantly found myself immersed within it. It reminds me of my early childhood. To a less degree it reminds me of when I used to watch “teenage mutant ninja turtles”, or even “biker mice”. Even though they were meant to be animals they all had human structures and features and this is what I liked about Daniel Lee.
"despite being more highly evoled than our fellow creatures , we are still animals" Daniel Lee 1993.

Human Evolution
Ever since I could ask the question "where did we originate from", i have been highly fasinated with human evolution. I always wondered how we got here and what comes next. I find looking at Daniel Lees' work that this makes my mind settle because his work makes my visualise what could have been.
I was looking over some of Daniel Lees' works and came across this fantastic image on evolution. I really love this picture because it really feeds my imagination to question, is this was how humans actually evolved from day one.
"Origin" by Daniel Lee
The video belolw is a 35 second clip which merges together the images above giving a more clear view of the evolution from an Amoeba to a human Lifeform Through 12 Stages of evolution.

Introduction to MAYA - Week One
Last friday i took my very first lesson in MAYA. My first impressions were that the programme did'nt seem as complicated as i first expected. As i have a moderate knowledge in 3D modelling I feel as if the change over will not be as complicated as first thought, i think the only struggle i'll have is trying to get used to that interface. We shall see.
Ok after Using MAYA for about a couple of weeks i finally feel confident enough to post up my dice models which were set in the first MAYA tutorial, So here they are.
